WWF(세계자연기금)의 Ocean Program Project Officer 는 인류와 자연이 조화를 이루는 미래를 구축하기 위하여 지속가능한 바다를 실현하는 것을 궁극적인 목표로 지속가능한 어업과 양식이 실현될 수 있도록 남획, 혼획 및 불법어업을 근절하고 생태계 보전 및 해양보호구역 확대 등을 통해 해양이 고갈되지 않고 기후변화에 대응할 수 있는 잠재력을 향상시킵니다.
주요한 업무는 팀멤버들과 함께 국내외 프로젝트를 수행하는 것으로 여기에는 국내외 정책제언, 시장개선 및 대중 소통을 포함합니다. 지속가능한 방식으로 수산물이 생산될 수 있도록 어민들과, 정책결정자, 선사들, 유통사들, NGO들 그리고 소비자와 긴밀하게 협조하고, 지속가능한 수산물 인증, 대중인식 증진, 정부 및 지방자치단체와 함께 정책 방향을 모색하며 콘퍼런스/라운드테이블 개최 및 운영이 주요업무에 포함됩니다.
Oceans Practice에 소속되어 국내∙외 Program and Partnership 팀과 긴밀히 협력하며 일하게 됩니다.

Major Functions of the Position
He/she will work as a member of the Program Team under the supervision of the Program Manager, but is expected to work with a high degree of anatomy & initiative. Working closely with the Program Team members, he/she will engage in implementation of various projects & the program activities, especially the projects designed to – but not limited to these;
Promote the sustainable fishing practices in the domestic & distant water fisheries of Korea; & Prevent, deter & eradicate illegal, unreported & unregulated (IUU) fishing activities involving fishing vessels, businesses & other stakeholders in the domestic & export seafood value chain & to improve traceability & transparency of the seafood produced, processed & traded therein.
Ensure the timely & successful delivery of the project outcomes & deliverables, he/she is expected to leverage his/her knowledge & skills in cooperating with members of WWF International & Korea’s Office & engaging in external stakeholders
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Working as a member of the Program Team, the Project Officer is responsible for;
Organizing & convening in-person & virtual meetings with key stakeholders e.g. fishing companies, cooperatives, seafood processors/traders/buyers/retailers, government officials, NGOs
Implementing & co-designing communication activities to increase the public & consumer awareness,
Keeping track of & monitoring in changes in fisheries-/fishing-related policies at the Korean government agencies, Regional Fisheries Management Organizations, International Maritime Organizations, UN Food & Agriculture Organizations & other relevant national/international organizations & agreements
Implementing & co-designing research & analysis to support the implementation of the projects & the overall Ocean Program, / as integral parts thereof Liaising & maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders mentioned above
Qualification & Experience
- Internal: As part of the Program team, works with oceans conservation program manager’s supervisory & conservation director’s management. works closely with all other colleagues in the WWF Korea team.
- External: Ministry of ocean & fishery, fishing companies such as Dongwon, Shilla, Sajo, etc., civil societies such as EJF, Appeal, CIES, certification assessment bodies such as Control Union, DNV-GL, Loyd certification
